Are there any official guidelines for choosing .NET/C++/HTML5?

    Question

  • I'm looking for any guidelines that Microsoft might have published on the subject. Limitations or capabilities of one platform over another etc.

I know some basic differences and knowledge of the languages takes a big part, but I am looking for any official documents, blog posts from MSFT etc.

  • Hi Filip,

Build your app using the technology you know!

    See:

  • Thanks. Do you know if there is anything more detailed comparing the HTML5 and XAML stacks? Sometimes we know both and there might be reasons to choose one over the other, like a missing feature - e.g. lack of ability to render the current layout to a bitmap and save it to a file etc.

  • There is not.  In general, you can do most everything in both.  If you have a specific idea that is critical for your application, I would suggest researching that thoroughly before proceeding.
