Getting user response to save dialog in Word 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am working in VS 2010 (VB.NET), and Word 2010 in Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit.

My word addin uses a SQL datatable, and I want to send updates to the SQL server when - and only when - the user saves the document, so that if the user decides to discard document changes, the datatable and the document stay in sync.

Toward that end, I'm trying to determine which button the user clicks in the Save (not "Save As") dialog that Word pops up if you try to close the document after making changes.  The choices are "Save", "Don't Save" and "Cancel."  If the user chooses "don't save" I want to know so I don't update the database.

Any ideas?  Thanks for your help.
