Failover elements of TC 4.2.1 RRS feed

  • Question

  •

TC 4.2.1 seems to have some elements attributing to "failover-type" of behavior, specifically the parts which says:

    • Any components, services, or client applications that are dependent on the server application were able to automatically reconnect to the server application after a failure, even if it means connecting to the server application running on a different node or computer.
    • Services and resources provided by the application were available when needed, even when the application was dealing with crash recovery.

If our application does not support "failover" or "clustering" as stated in Req 3.7 that we can forego "failover" tests, does TC 4.2.1 still apply?  There is no way of marking N/A for this test case...

Thanks for any help I can get!

  • Hi,

If the your application doesn’t support the Cluster Failover, then TC3.7.2 and TC3.7.3 will not be applicable for you.

However the latest version of the Certification Tool will be helpful for you.

    Hope the above helps.

    Thanks
