Intercept http request.

    Question

  • Hi,

My goal is to embed webview control in my metro application and all the requests sent to webserver can be intercepted and overwritten.

In desktop, I know there is URL moniker (URLMon.dll in desktop) behind to plug a customized async pluggable protocols (APP) to handle it. Since this APP impl need to support a lot of COM interfaces. In another words, does WinRT still support URL Moniker and APP concepts in IE? Is there any alternative way in WinRT more naturally?

    Thanks,

  • Hi,

As far as I know, the URLMon.dll contains API based on IE. And the IE in Windows Store app is different from the desktop IE.

    Based on the document
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms679705(v=vs.85).aspx

    Minimum supported client
Windows 2000 Professional [desktop apps | Windows Store apps]

It means that we can use it in Windows Store app. We can check the if a COM API can be used in Windows Store from this document
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms693465(v=vs.85).aspx

If all the API which can achieve the moniker, it means that we can achieve it.

    Best regards,
    Jesse
