Errors and Warnings when running/loading MSTest RRS feed

  • Question

  • Just wondering if anyone could help me out with the following Error:

Error loading C:\EPDev\EAS\mainlines\EP.Core.Services.SearchService\source\APILayer\API.Tests\bin\Debug\EP.Core.Services.SearchService.API.Tests.dll: The test 'ToResource_returns_proper_equivalent_enumerator' from 'c:\epdev\eas\mainlines\ep.core.services.searchservice\source\apilayer\api.tests\bin\debug\ep.core.services.searchservice.api.tests.dll' that is loading has the same TestId {c46f65f9-d530-72a6-02d8-55c77ea28cef} as the test 'ToResource_returns_proper_equivalent_enumerator' already loaded from 'c:\epdev\eas\mainlines\ep.core.services.searchservice\source\client layer\client.inproc.tests\bin\debug\ep.core.services.searchservice.client.inproc.tests.dll'.

Any help would be much appreciated!

After playing around a bit it seems like the error is being caused by two tests in two different assemblies having the same name.  Does that really give mstest difficulties or what?

  • Hi Mike,

To understand the problem better, can you please share the following details?

    - What MSTest command you are using to run the tests?

    - Are you specifying testcontainer parameter in the command?

    - You mentioned that the test method with the same name exists in 2 different assemblies. Does both the test methods have same namespace/classname in both these dlls?

  • Hi Aseem.  I'm running MSTest from Visual Studio, not via the command line.  The test methods have the same name in a class with the same name but the namespaces are different.
