Convert Alpha Numeric to Number when export to Excel RRS feed

    Hi,

    May be this issue has been raised many times but i couldn't find the fruitful solution from any of the other threads.

    Coming to the Issue

    I have a Column which have Alpha Numeric Values

    Col A

    Count

    182

    11.6%

    Value

    4.1%

    When Exporting to Excel , The numeric values are not converted to Number format(Its Showing Green tab on the top left representing to Convert) How Can I make Numeric values to be converted to Number?

    Hi Deepak,

    In Reporting Services, we can only display one type of data in one column. Since the column with a string type, it inherit the properties of that textbox which comes from the source data when the report export to excel. This is by design.

    While in Excel level, we can unchecked "Enable background error checking" option to avoid this issue. Click File->Options-Formulas, then unchecked "Enable background error checking" option under Error Checking group. Then the green triangle on the top left hand corner will disappear.
