SharePoint 2003 + Exchange 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Our IT group is planning on upgrading Exchange to 2010.  We are currently running SharePoint Portal 2003.

I was asked to see if we were going to run into problems with Exchange 2010 and SharePoint 2003. I haven't found much information on this combination.  Anyone have any experience with this and know if there is any issues we will run into?

    Thanks so much!

  • Hi AnneMarieAustin,

I have never come across this problem before, so I tried to search the relevant information on the Internet. The result is same with you, I didn’t find any useful information.  Support for SharePoint 2003 become less and less, because people pay most of their attention to MOSS 2007 and SPS 2010.

In theory, this is feasible. Because this software is “downward compatible”. This is like Exchange 2010 can be deployed with SharePoint 2007. But we can not rule out that this would lead to other unknown problems. If you want to do this, I suggest that you first back up your useful data.

I think the best solution is to upgrade your SharePoint 2003 to SharePoint 2007 or SharePoint 2010. In this way, you can get a better user experience, get more comprehensive support.

    Hope this could help you.
