Why do we need win8 to view the code of a metro project? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Why do we need Win8 to view the metro project in visual studio?  Not to use the design view, or compile, but just to be able to look at the code.  I prefer to view the code trough Visual Studio instead of Notepad++.

  • Hi Zev M,

You can view most of the codes in Visual Studio by opening the individual files in Visual Studio. However, you will lost most of the design time support from Visual Studio because WinRT is not supported in previous versions of Windows system.
