Can't register for developer license, error 0xC03F1014

    Question

  • I guess I tried all proposed solutions in the various forums, but I still can't get a developer license through Visual Studio. The registration asks for my Live login and then fails with error 0xC03F1014...

    What I tried:

    • Registering from Visual Studio
    • Registering form Blend
    • Registering with Powershell commands
    • Stopping virus scanner and firewall
    • Repair of VS
    • Contacting Microsoft, they are working on it

    My situation:

    • Windows 8 standard (not pro version, does it mattter ?)
    • Visual Studio Express 2013
    • W8 clean install, legitimate key, registration ok
    • No proxy, home situation

Ik hope anyone can help me out. I've been working to solve this problem way to long.

    Many thanks in advance.

  • Hi,

The forum supports VS Setup and Installation. Your issue isn't related to the forum.

I will move it to the related forum for better support.

    Regards.

  • In a phone call with Microsoft, the supporter indicated that this is a known issue. He helped me out with a register patch.

  • I had the same issue a while back.  I ended up solving it by

    0. Shut down VS

    1. Deleting cookies/cahce/ etc from IE

    2. SIgning in to Hotmail/Live

  • Thanks.  Didn't work for me.

I do believe it is a registry issue as stated elsewhere that only Microsoft can solve--for a fee if it is not deemed a bug, as I understand it.
