Can't See Data source library RRS feed

  • Question

  • This is proably a really basic question. I have a share point site created from WSS 3.0 I believe I am the site owner. I can't seem to be able to find a way to create a data source or even find a data source library folder. I'm trying to do this from the sharpoint site. Is this something I need the sharepoint designer for? is this functionality not supported in WSS 3.0

I'm trying to connect to a sql server database to populate a sharepoint list.

Thanks for any help I'm just getting started with this.

  • Hi BigJimSlade80465,

Data Source Library is not shipped with WSS 3.0. you may need to use SharePoint Designer or Visual Studio to retrieve data from SQL Server and populate to a SharePoint list based on your real requirements.

For how to use SharePoint Designer to connect a database, please refer to: Add a database as a data source .

Hope the information can be helpful.
