SqlCeEngine vs DbContext?... RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I will be using SQL Server Compact 4.0 and need help on deciding rather to continue in this path.  I'm developing a stand alone WPF application to market next year and having trouble getting enough information out of the examples and documentation using the SqlCeEngine API vs DbContext API.

So my question is which one is better suited for my project, because I want to commit and give my full attention to one?

    Thanks?...

None/Both; SqlCeEngine is for native database access, while DbContext is from Entity Framework, an OR mapper. So it depends on knowledge & requirements on what to use. An in an application you can use both, of course.
