Are the current APIs for specialized devices going to change? RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I have been able to successfully access a non-removable, specialized device using ICreateDeviceAccessAsync and related interfaces.  I noticed these interfaces have changed slightly since they were first published.  I also noticed they are no longer directly linked in the MSDN documentation.  Also, there are numerous posts of this forum saying that more information regarding specialized device access is going to be released in the near future.

Can we expect the current APIs to still be supported when the information finally arrives from Microsoft?  Are the APIs expected to change significantly?  Should I continue to invest in the development of my software using these APIs, or should I wait until more information is released?
