Please clarify difference between current cost vs actual cost in cost management RRS feed

  • Could you please explain me about current cost in Cost Management section. How does Current cost differ from Actual cost?

    Do we have to pay for the amount shown in current cost or actual cost.

    Sorry for the delay in response to your question.

    Per https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cost-management-billing/costs/quick-acm-cost-analysis#review-costs-in-cost-analysis The Actual cost view metric shows the total usage and purchase costs for the current month, as they're accrued and will show on your bill. The other view metric is Amortized cost.

    If you hover over the information symbol to the right of Actual cost, you’ll see this pop-up:

    As for Current cost, that’s a column label for subscriptions. AFAIK, there’s no mention of current cost anywhere in Cost Management, but …  

    It looks like the amount shown for Current cost under Subscriptions = Actual Cost in Cost Management. Look at the cost in the following two images for the AppInsights Test subscription.

    In short, you have to pay for cost as per the invoice.
