Can not edit .rc resource file RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I don't know this is the right place for my question:

    I have VS2013 to create a property page (windows dialog template). I copied from example VC++ project. But I need to edit the resource file .rc with string tables and .ico, etc. Every time, if the .rc is edited, it generates errors with duplicated macro definitions. (string table IDs and system default IDs are inserted into resource.h file).

    For example:

    #define

    IDH_OK                          28443

    #define

    IDH_CANCEL                      28444

    #define

    IDH_HELP                        28445

    #define

    LANG_BOSNIAN_NEUTRAL            0x781a

    #define

    LANG_CHINESE_TRADITIONAL        0x7c04

    #define

    LANG_SERBIAN_NEUTRAL            0x7c1a

    #define

    IDTIMEOUT                       32000

    #define

    OCR_NORMAL                      32512

    #define

    OIC_SAMPLE                      32512

    #define

    IDI_APPLICATION                 32512

    All these IDs are not suppose to be included in the resource.h, but it is automatically inserted when the .rc file is edited.

    How to resolve this issue?

    Thank you,Tiger

  • VS2013 Resource editor cannot edit .rc file that is created by old versions. Create a new .rc file and copy and paste IDs and strings, etc. into new resources.

    Thanks,
