[Error] How can I copy files to External Hard Drive? (Invalid MS-DOS Function)

    When I copy a file to External Hard Drive, then this error. How can I copy?

    I tried on Windows 7, everything is ok.

    The partition type of my external HDD is NTFS.

  • Try to run Process Monitor while you copy the data, stop the Process Monitor trace and save it as PML and upload this file.

    I also tried by renaming the file. Furthermore, I also compress that file and name again with only English characters, but it does not work.

  • The first, I scanned the external drive and this is the result

     

    Then, I scanned and repaired...

    Finally, I scanned again and also get a dialog...

    So, I think chkdsk can not resolve this problem.

  • You might wan to try and copy the file to a thumb drive and then copy to the external drive.
