Unexpected status STATUS_REPARSE in mini filter post create routine RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I am trying to achieve file redirection with re-parse points in mini filter.

In my pre-create callback I do the necessary modifications: change the file name in file object and then set callbackdirty. I do not return status reparse  immediately, instead In post-create callback I add a reparse point to the new file that is being open/created. I am able to get the reparse point in other callback such as the pre-close callback where I can get the reparse point data and modify it without any problem. The problem arise when I try to open the file for write or read access, in which case I get a STATUS-REPARSE in post create and I can't have access to the file when I open it from explorer.

Can anyone help me? I dont know why the file system return STATUS_REPARSE at that specific moment.

    Thank you
