Download Manager for downloading softwares from MSDN.....

Question

how to download softwares from the msdn website using a download manager, i'm not happy with the inbuilt download manager as they just don't have strength to take up that 2gig download...please help me

There are a lot of options for downloading software from MSDN Subscriber Downloads Avinash.  Please review our help documentation page about the Microsoft File Transfer Manager here for assistance: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-US/subscriptions/aa948864.aspx.

Probably the best things to try are:

1) Try using IE and clicking on the regular download link.

2) Try using your 2nd favorite browser (hah) and click on the regular download link.

3) try using IE and clicking on the "Details" link next to the file, and then clicking on the "Direct Download" link that you see.

4) Try using your 2nd favorite browser and clicking on the Direct Download link as in #3. 

If you're getting a particular error, let me know.

Thanks Mike. It worked !!! Although there is a small typo in the end which confused me while download 

"http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-US/subscriptions/aa948864.aspx." Should be 

"http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-US/subscriptions/aa948864.aspx"
