  • How do I type onto a Letterhead that has been sent as a JPeg

  • 1. set it as a background image and then place the text over it.


    2. Use image editing software such as Photoshop or Irfanview and add it directly to the image. The problem with option 2 is that the text will not be found by search engines.

  • Umm... that would work just fine, Steve, if he was asking about a Web page, and this was an EW question. Unfortunately, he's not, and this isn't. Unless he is confused and asking in the wrong forum, this is an Expression Design question.

    To the OP, since you are using "image editing software" already, first set the document size to the size of your desired document ("File|Artboard Size"). Then, import the jpg image ("File|Import"). Now, create a new layer on top of the existing layer (click the New Layer icon in the Layers panel). Layers in ED are transparent by default, so check to make sure the new layer is active, then you can click the Text Tool and add your text over the image.
