Non TDE SharePoint database encryption in SQL Server 2008 RRS feed

  • Can one encrypt the SharePoint content databases using symmetric keys created from scratch instead of using Transparent Data Encryption in SQL Server? Don't have the right license for TDE...

    As I understand, you want to encrypt the SharePoint content databases using symmetric keys in SQL server 2008.

    If you want to encrypt the database file, you just use the TDE in SQL server. You also could use the encrypt connection to protect data.
