Word 2003 to Word 2010 template location change RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am a novice at best.

    My old 2003 code for a macro is to run a template.

    Documents.Add Template:= _
    "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates\Admin\Letter.dot", _
    NewTemplate:=False, DocumentType:=0

    I want to place these templates in C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates

    What is the code for that?

    I tried %appdata%\%microsoft% and it doesn't work

    HELP

    thanks for any help

  • Rich,

    Thank you so much.  After playing around with the syntax, this novice person was able to make it work locally.  Now the test is when I remote into my client's machine and see if it works on their Windows xp and Windows 7 machines.

    Who is Cindy Meister?  Thanks to her also!!!

    I am so good at the Word software and training end user but not so much on VBA (nor am I a want-to-be).  You either have the head or not and you guys do!

    Thanks again,

    Christine

  • You’re welcome.

    As for Cindy Meister, she's one of the volunteer monitors of this forum and she is brilliant.  Someone everyone can learn a lot from about Word Development.
