Azure DDoS Protection Service Registration and Next Step RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are wondering how can we confirm our Azure DDoS Protection Service registration.   What do we need to do next ?  How can we verify the DDoS protection is enabled?

  • You can verify your DDoS status through Powerhsell with the following script:

    $vnetProps = (Get-AzureRmResource -ResourceType "Microsoft.Network/virtualNetworks" -ResourceGroup <ResourceGroupName> -ResourceName <ResourceName>).Properties
    $vnetProps

    Please refer to:  https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-network/ddos-protection-manage-ps#review-the-ddos-protection-status-of-a-virtual-network

you can use BreakingPoint Cloud service. (it can simulate a DDOS attack for your Azure service) and then you can Monitor metrics to see how Azure DDOS protection protect your VMs.

A Note: Azure DDOS protection just provide mitigation for layer 3, 4. if DDOS attack on layer 7 you need WAF solution.
