CoreTestShim.sys failed to load on Windows Server 2008 R2 when running HCK Test RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,
I met a problem when running HCK for a Storage device in Windows Server 2008 R2. In the test of Bus Reset Test or Lun Rest Test, HCK installed a driver called CoreTestShim, but the driver can't be loaded, with the error " application popup \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\CoreTestShim.sys cannot find ntoskrnl.exe KeInitializeSpinLock" in Event Log. I've installed WDK8 Redistributable and still can't fix this.
What steps should I take to get CoreTestShim loaded in Windows 2008 R2? Or have any one done this test successfully for Windows Server 2008 R2 before?

  • I am also seeing the same error on Windows Server 2008 R2. coretestshim.sys version is 6.3.9600.17388 in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\8.1\Hardware Certification Kit\Tests\amd64\NTTEST\driverstest\storage\wdk\shims\coretestshim". I have HCK 8.1 version 8.100.27024 and latest filter applied. Is there a fix/workaround for this?
