  • Question

  • I live in an HOA with two private courts separated by a locked gate that is only opened by the fire dept in emergency's.Your program sends dozens of cars past my house to the locked gate where there is no turn around and people have to backup 100 yards. This is dangerous and annoying.I have repeatedly reported this problem on to deaf ears. Please help me. The streets are Tiger tail ct. and Gardiner Ct. 94563   Joe  510-913-7014

  • I see the issue you are reporting when looking at the streetside imagery here: https://binged.it/2qZ1zFI

I was able to calculate a route that reproduces the issue you are reporting: https://binged.it/34e6i4C

I used the "Report a problem" button on the Bing Maps website report the issue.

Microsoft also has another mapping platform called Azure Maps. I have verified that this issue does not occur in that platform. Bing Maps will be moving to the same data set as Azure Maps in the near future. That should resolve this issue.

  • Hi Joe,

Microsoft does not offer a turn by turn routing agent as you suggest.  On Bing maps we show a dead end street so we would not route anyone there.  See Corner of Tigertail & Gardiner 94563

Android phones uses Google maps and that is more likely the mapping application that would be routing folks in your neighborhood.  They take feedback as described here: https://support.google.com/maps/answer/3094045?co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid&hl=en

You can see the problem here: https://www.google.com/maps/search/+Tiger+tail+ct.+and+Gardiner+Ct.+94563/@37.9019991,-122.1762266,19.02z

The street is shown as a path rather than the rest of the roads around it.  You can provide that link to Google to show them the problem.

    Sincerely,

  • I reported the problem ten times. No reply   Any thoughts on when Azure will take over?

  • Hi Joe,

Can you produce a link like Ricky did that shows the issue?  It seems that we are not seeing the issue so if you can give us something we can see Ricky & I can escalate it to the Maps and Geospatial team that manages the underlying data.

NOTE: Bing Maps has a different multiprovider data set than Azure Maps so the Maps and GeoSpacial Team will need to review.

    Sincerely,

    IoTGirl
