Hi, CogentData,
There's a known problem with Kensington mouse drivers and ClickOnce, for some reason. I've seen it before with our app; I can't remember if it is this error or if the application just won't run. It's a possibility though.
I think when we saw this problem, it was the customer having connectivity problems. They connected their computer directly to their broadband modem instead of going through their router, and it fixed the problem. So is there any possibility (or a way to test) that this person's computer is having problems with their deployment timing out because their connection is slow? If you set up another account on the machine and try it, does it work? That will help pinpoint whether the problem is the machine or the user's account.
Also, I assume you have tried turning off the firewall and A/V protection, at least long enough to do the deployment.

First, check and see if the user has a Kensington mouse, or Kensington mouse drivers installed on her computer.
Are the customers on an intranet, or are you deploying across the internet? Are they in a corporate environment? Or is she working elsewhere, and has her own router and so on? If the latter, have her plug the computer directly into the router and see if it has any impact.

The program is deployed via the internet. The client is in a corporate environment but indicates that there is nothing filtering his internet traffic. I do not know what kind of mouse they have. What is the issue with Kensington mice (mouses)?

Hi CogentData,
Please let the user put the following url into IE's address bar.
http://www.cogentdatasystems.com/fpic_scp/FPIC_SCP_1_0_0_37/PdfSharp.dll
I think he cannot successfully see the popup download dialog. He may be see the message like "The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable."Does these successfully installed users all inside your company network? Does that faild user under a subnet outside your company? I am inside the Microsoft network so some url access will be limited.
Sincerely,
Kira Qian

Your link needs a ".deploy" at the end to work.
In any event, all users are accessing the app over the internet.
When I type the url into the browser of the user with the problem it pops up a Save dialog. When you click 'Save' the downloading dialog pops up and you can see it downloading. However, it doesn't complete the download... normally hangs after downloading about 225k (the file is 480k).Thursday, April 16, 2009 4:06 AM -
Hi CogentData,
Sorry for the mistake. When I use the
"http://www.cogentdatasystems.com/fpic_scp/FPIC_SCP_1_0_0_37/PdfSharp.dll.deploy" url to download it, I can successfully download it. It is 480KB. So there is no problem with ClickOnce deployment, but the problem with that computer. It cannot fully download the file even through IE.Does he use proxy? Do you have good directly link broad band such as DSL? Let the user link to the internet directly to test the process. First you should make sure IE can download that file then try ClickOnce install.
Sincerely,
Kira Qian
