Creating a scrolling menu like the example on the microsoft live@edu site? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have been battling for 2 days to try and replicate the scrolling menu, like on the microsoft live@edu website. You can find it at the Silverlight Showcase. I have been unsuccessful in finding any tutorials on completing this challenging task. I have been trying to solve it by doing the following: (1) Create a number of text objects, such as hyperlinks within a block (you could use icons as well or image thumbnails, then create a left and right arrow to control the scrolling of the links. (2) Create a clipping path that only shows a certain number of objects underneath. (3) Then create an animation as a resource that moves the link block from right to left and then in reverse. (4) Finally, write the code to call the event handler. This is where I get stuck.

Has anyone tried to do the same and if so, are you willing to share your source code?
