Kitl support for Realtek gigbit (compact 2013) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We've got a new etx module with an onboard realtek gigabit network interface ( 0x10EC, 0x8168 ),

A year ago or so, i got support for a Intel gigabit (0x8086, 0x1000) from an Adlink board support package.

I've looked around but can't find a bsp with Realtek gigbit driver (+kitl) supported, anyone know where i can find this ?

    Regards, Deckx Kevin

  • Hi,

I've tried to bring-up Realtek Gbe with similar driver as this -

and found that its functionality depends on chip revision.
My colleague had success with his hardware (unkown revision), but I failed to turn it on revision "0C" (PCI configuration offset 08h).

  • IIRC, that PID is for the Realtek 8168 chip.  It is functionally equivalent to the 8111C chip.  I developed a KITL driver for that chip a few years ago.  It does the minimal KITL transport but I never went to the next step to integrate it with eboot to allow downloading an image.  I have had a few contacts to purchase that code, but the price I could sell it for was less than the effort to actually sell it.  I am currently discussing how to make that code available publicly for free.

I will try to post instructions once details are worked out.

I should point out this driver was written for WEC7.  I have not tested it with WEC2013.

  • Thats the problem, WINCE8 is not binary compatibel with CE6 or CE7 so those drivers are useless to me :(
