Native WPF Report Viewer control for SSRS RRS feed

  • Question

  • When will a native WPF control for viewing SSRS reports be available?

I have many posts about how attempting to use the Windows Forms Report Viewer degrades the WPF application, it seems like its time for a WPF version!

  • Hi Ryan,
WPF Report Viewer is something that we are considering for future version of Visual Studio.  As usual, I cannot promise when.

    Thanks for your patience.

  • I am also very interested in a native WPF report viewer.  Although the new report viewer for Visual Studio 2010 has significant improvements, it seems out of touch with the current Microsoft technology priorities.  Having ASP.NET AJAX support and a better WinForms control would have been great 2 years ago, but WPF and Silverlight report viewers would be great for developers now.

  • Has there been any news on Microsoft moving from considering, to developing on this SSRS/WPF viewer issue?  Any info would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you
