Test Environments did not upgrade from MTM 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • After updating TFS from 2010 to 2012, we updated MTM and the Test Controller and our Test Agents.  However, in MTM 2012, none of our 2010 Test environments display. My test controller and test agents are displayed on the Controller tab, and they are all shown as online.  It is just the Environment tab that is empty.

Also, if I try to create a new environment, I receive and error saying I don't have the correct permissions to create an environment.  What permissions besides contributer do I need to manage the test environment?  It is unclear in the documentation.

  • Hi SophiaKJ,

You need to have the Write Environment and Virtual Machines permission to create environment.

You also grant this permission for users by using the TfsLabConfig Permissions command: TfsLabConfig Permissions /collection:http://TfsServerName:8080/tfs/collectionName /user:domain\userName /allow: Write

For further information please see: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd380760.aspx

    Thanks.
