Windows 8.1 app build error for x64 only: Could not run the "GetSdkToolFullPath" task ... RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, my app builds fine for x86 and ARM but got a few following errors for x64:

Error type 1:Could not run the "GetSdkToolFullPath" task because MSBuild could not create or connect to a task host with runtime "CLR4" and architecture "x64".  Please ensure that (1) the requested runtime and/or architecture are available on the machine, and (2) that the required executable "MSBuild.exe" exists and can be run.

    Error type 2:
The "GetSdkToolFullPath" task's outputs could not be retrieved from the "ActualToolFullPath" parameter. Object does not match target type.

Can anybody help me out here?

  • Hi Yan - is there any chance you can upload the app to OneDrive and share a link here? I can check it out.

NOTE: If I ask for code, please provide something that I can drop directly into a project and run (including XAML), or an actual application project. I'm trying to help a lot of people, so I don't have time to figure out weird snippets with undefined objects and unknown namespaces.

  • I solved the issue by upgrading VS to 2013 update 2. Thanks!
