Set autocommit OFF in oracledataprovider RRS feed

  • Hi all. I have a some problem with auto commit. I just don't need them.  So how can I turn it off in my client that use Oracledataprovider ?.

  • I am not Oracle person, but if Oracle provider follows same pattern as SQL Server then you could execute SET AUTOCOMMIT OFF command using ExecuteNonQuery method of the Command object, same way as any other SQL statement

  •  One option is to explicitly create and manage an OracleTransaction.  An example of how to do this can be found on MSDN: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/xx4z1eb6.aspx.

    I would advise you to not try to control the transaction management directly.
