Redirects for URLs RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm pretty sure this is not the correct location for this so please recommend another option.

    I have many inbound URL's that need to be redirected to a friendly 404 page.  The URL's contain special characters so the redirect does not work.

    Can someone recommend a solution?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi,

    If you have special characters in the URL I would recommend you to encode the URL's like:

    System.Web.HttpUtility.UrlEncode("TheURL");

  • I would advice against the above (cause Microsoft fro some reason does not comply to URL Encoding Standards for some reason)

    But i cannot give an answere, cause i don't know what kind of project you use and therefore how a redirect would need to be implemented.

    (For example in WCF there won't be a need to redirect, you could just send the HTML page, only the javascript on the client would need to set the HTML as the pages content then).
