SharePoint 2010 DistributedCOM Event ID 10016 Error RRS feed

  • Web frond end server suddenly getting following error which i found using Event Viewer under Windows Logs/System,

    Error:


    The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID 
    {61738644-F196-11D0-9953-00C04FD919C1}
     and APPID 
    {61738644-F196-11D0-9953-00C04FD919C1}
     to the user Domain\farmaccount SID (S-1-5-21-3166358256-3741618376-1075545218-12670) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool. 

    Event id: 10016

    can someone help me to fix it?

  • Hi,

    As I understand, you encountered the error in SharePoint 2010.

    You could grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application on the SharePoint server.

    You should take ownership of the corresponding registry keys firstly and grant Administrators permissions to update the configuration. For more detailed information, you could refer to the article below.
