Move to Pearson Vue derailing my certification timetable RRS feed

  • Question

  • Wondering if anyone else has had this problem and had any better luck getting it resolved?

I purchased a 3 exam voucher for MCSA SQL Server 2012 in July 2014 (exams 70-461, 70-462, 70-463).  Have passed the first two and was working towards sitting 70-463 this month.

When I went to book it early last week, I found no Prometric availability in my country (Scotland) for December.  I then tried to register with Pearson Vue (as per http://www.pearsonvue.com/microsoft, Prometric vouchers are valid on their site), only to be told my voucher was invalid.

A Microsoft employee then told me during a 50 minute phone call on Wed 3 Dec that my voucher was invalid - he eventually backtracked once I showed him the Pearson Vue link above.  I then emailed the details of my voucher purchase to the EMEA email address.

Nine days later I still have no resolution, and my hopes of completing this certification by the end of this year are dashed (there is now no availability for this month at Pearson Vue either). It is ridiculous that Microsoft were not prepared for cases like this, especially when many, including myself, will have invested huge amounts of time and money in preparing for their exams, only to be unfairly delayed by poor administrative processes.

Interested to hear if anyone has had the same experience and managed to have the issue resolved?

    Thanks

    Dave

  •  Hi,

Fount this at the Pearson VUE website:

"Unused, unexpired Prometric vouchers may be used to schedule an exam in the Pearson VUE registration system after January 6, 2015"

I used a prometric voucher myself today to register an exam at VUE and the code was accepted.

So you might give it a try again.

  • I have the same issue, I purchased 3 exam packs from Prometric, when the new year started I was ok let's get to work, tired to schedule my first test, 70-247 I could not schedule no more, PearsonVue informed me that these vouchers are invalid for 3 tests only for one, I went back and forth between Prometric, PearsonVue & Microsoft, Microsoft decided to take over case, but it has been since the end of the year and now we are in Feb. 2015 issue is still not resolved is it soooo hard to look at past records and just issue single vouchers for the tests I purchased, do not know I will call them again this week, if it is not resolved I guess I will try Social Media or just cave in and ask for a refund, in which I do not want to I have worked hard studied hard, but calling and going back and forth without no resolution is just a total was of time, I am not made of money at all.........
