How to get "matching device id" using Win32 API RRS feed

  • Question

  • In Windows device manager, for any particular device we can view it's details, this including "device description", "inf name", "device co-installer", etc etc

I want to know if there is any win32 api using C++ that can let me do this?

Please help me, i tried a lot searching for it

  • Take a look at the Devcon sample in the WDK see https://code.msdn.microsoft.com/windowshardware/Windows-Driver-Kit-WDK-81-cf35e953.  This is a command line version of the device manager and provides code that shows you how to do all the things you ask.

  • Thanks a lot for your answer sir.

As a side request, I also need a microsoft webpage telling what each property meant. I searched a lot for it, but with no progress. Can you please point me to a link which explains each property in detail

  • I don't believe there is a page for this.  Search for "Unified Device Property Model" to get much of the information.  Many of these properties are obvious, if there are specific properties you do not understand pose a question to this forum on those.
