Facing problem during the creation of Azure Queue Storage Application RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Friends,

I am creating one sample Azure Queue Storage Application. I am taking the help from the following sites. PSB.

    http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/UploadFile/shivprasadk/342/Default.aspx

I dont able to see Microsoft.Samples.ServiceHosting.StorageClient.dll, when I try to add new reference to access some clases.

Because as I have installed Azure SDK, I think, all these reference should be there by default. How will I add the above mentioned dll. Is this similar to Microsoft.Windowsazure.StorageClient.dll or its different? If so then how will I add this dll.

Otherwise provide some links or some tips to create simple Azure Queue Storage application. I just want to know how actually Queue works.

Hope, you are cleared. Please guide me to this.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Chiranjibi,

You may want to go through Neil's blogs: http://nmackenzie.spaces.live.com/blog/ and look for blog entry about Queues using Storage Client library. You'll get a good understanding of the library there. I'm afraid I haven't use Storage Client library that much to give you any more recommendations.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks

The basic sample shipped with the Windows Azure SDK (look for a zipped samples file in the root directory of the SDK) shows a web role interacting with a worker role via a queue. You should also look at Windows Azure Platform Training Kit which has a lot of helpful samples.

  • Hi Chiranjibi,

I believe Microsoft.Samples.ServiceHosting.StorageClient.dll is old client library. You must use Microsoft.Windowsazure.StorageClient.dll for your projects. You may want to look at Windows Azure Platform Training Kit for some samples and demo application.s

    Hope this helps.

  • Thanks Gaurav, I have already installed Kit, but I did not understand properly by going through this. Give me some site link, where all the steps would be cleared for a beginner. Regards, Chiranjibi Das
