Redirection to FormsServer RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

we have created a form template and published it to a library.

Under Form Library Settings > Advanced Settings >  Opening browser-enabled documents  > Open in the Client Application is set.

Trying to open the form from the Form Library opens InfoPath 2007 client and renders the form with success.

If we try to copy paste an XML's link directly to browser sharepoint tries to render the form with FormsServer:

    http://server/teamsites/_layouts/FormServer.aspx?XmlLocation=/teamsites/discrepanciesform/2011_16_6758.xml

    Why does this happen?

We are trying to provide the form's link through a report.

  • I'm not sure why this happens, but you're not alone.

In your report can you concat the value?  Just add the following to the very end of your link:

    ?NoRedirect=True

The full link would look like:

    http://server/teamsites/discrepanciesform/2011_16_6758.xml?NoRedirect=True

  • Try adding

    &OpenIn=Browser

at the end of your link.

  • Hi Dennis,

I want to open the form in the Client and not in browser.

I guess that the param is used in order to open the form in the Browser.

  • Melissa,

this is the redirected URL: http://server/teamsites/_layouts/FormServer.aspx?XmlLocation=/teamsites/discrepanciesform/2011_16_6758.xml

    this is the OriginalURL: http://server/teamsites/discrepanciesform/2011_16_6758.xml

I added the NoRedirect=True at the end of the OriginalURL: http://server/teamsites/discrepanciesform/2011_16_6758.xml?NoRedirect=True and worked like a charm !

    Thanks.

    Dimitris.
