BING MAPS - transition from FourthCoffeeSample Data to live data on NavteqEU for places of interest api RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have set up a web application using the Bing Maps Ajax Map Control v7

Sample URL to use is :-

    http://spatial.virtualearth.net/REST/v1/data/20181f26d9e94c81acdf9496133d4f23/FourthCoffeeSample/FourthCoffeeShops?' +

this works fine and populates a sample set of places of interest based on a distance between a route.

but as it was just sample data so I moved onto the live data (europe) under:-

    http://spatial.virtualearth.net/REST/v1/data/c2ae584bbccc4916a0acf75d1e6947b4/NavteqEU/NavteqPOIs?' +

And its not working, is there a difference in the url, should I be using less parameters? I assumed that live url would be the same with the above slight change but its not working, any help would be great as the same data works fine I just cant get the real live data to work now?!?

    Thanks

    Phil

  • The data sources have different properties. If you have any filters in your URL that are for a property that doesn't exist then that could be part of the issue. If your spatial filter is for a location outside of Europe you won't get any data with the NavteqEU data source. Check your code when you handle the response to ensure that an error isn't occurring because you are accessing a property that doesn't exist.
