Can't find the help viewer for VS2017

    Question

  • Hi,

It looks like the new version of VS2017 RC has messed up my installation: I can't find the directory "Microsoft Help Viewer" and, indeed, the help seems gone. When I pressed F1 I got the error "Can't find hlpviewer.exe" or something like that. I reinstalled everything and now, when I press F1, I get redirected to the Microsoft docs site with no apparent way to use local help.

Is this the intended behavior? No more local help?

In the Visual Studio Installer, Choose "Individual components" and you
should find Help Viewer under "Code tools".
