Upgraded to new visual interface, now home page is empty RRS feed

  • Question

  • Site upgraded from 2007-->2010. I selected "Update the User Interface".

Now the home (top-level site) page is empty.

    • The Site Actions, Up Folder, Browse and Page menu items do appear at the tope of the page. But nothing else below that line. No logo, no title, no description, etc.
    • If I select either Site Actions or my Username, the menu is drawn, but "behind" the line below (ie, I cannot see any of the menu items for either selection)
    • When navigating to the home page, I see the home page for a second. But then it empties out and everything below the above mentioned menu items dissappear
    • Strangely, if I select manually (add into the URL) any sub-site, everything in the the Banner, Title Descritions, etc., are rendered as they should be (they inherit from above.)
    • I cannot reverse the visual upgrade, even by entering in the URL, manually, to do so:  http://mysite/_layouts/reghost.aspx

Any help out there? I'm so close!

  • Was your top level site using a custom master page?  If so, then double check how the content placeholders on the v4.master and the ones on the old custom master line up.

  • Sorry about that. I was following the links posted in the TechNet subscriber benefits pages. There was nothing in there to denote 2007 or 2010.

Please delete this post. I re-posted in the link you sent (as I didn't see the message moved, yet.)

  • Standard Site. This was out first site, so it was just using the included templates.
