A Sharepoint Stored Excel as a PowerPivot Data Source RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I have a powerpivot workbook that uses an excel file stored in SP as a datasource. This used to work fine and all of a sudden stopped working. In fact all Powerpivot workbooks that use excel as a data source stopped. The workbook does exists and the table is there. I am unsure where/how the DatasourceID get set and stored, but have a feeling it is the root cause.

I get an error similar to this:

The operation failed because the source database does not exist, the source table does not exist, or because you do not have access to the data source.

    More Details:

OLE DB or ODBC error: Unspecified error.

A connection could not be made to the data source with the DataSourceID of '4291c950-85d4-4936-98d6-9704dbae68f5', Name of 'Excel Goals and Metrics'.

An error occurred while the partition, with the ID of 'Goals_ac343392-9b15-48a6-b97f-9003e783fac1', Name of 'Goals' was being processed.

The operation failed because the source database does not exist, the source table does not exist, or because you do not have access to the data source.
