OS image integrity check inconsistence RRS feed

  • Question

  • I built a Windows CE 5.0 OS image using Platform Builder and ran MD5 digest on the image (NK.nb0).

Then, without modifying any code or changing any configuration files, I just re-run the "Make Run-Time Image" to reproduct the image. I noticed the MD5 digest on the newly built image is not identical to the previous built image.

Can any one explain why the two images would not be the idential ?

Does Platform Builder insert timestamp into the OS image ?

    Thanks,

    /Chi.

  • This is a known issue.  Since you can't rebuild and get the exact same binary, you will probably want to control your source code and build environment.
