one machine with domain controller and appfabric caching RRS feed

  • Question

  • im planning on deploying 3 VMs in azure.

one is sql server, one is iis server and one is appfabric caching (I install my own appfabric server, not using azure cache).

I also need to make a domain, I read recommendations that Microsoft does not recommend installing sql server nor iis on a domain controller for a variety of reasons.

can I install appfabric and a domain controller on the same machine? is there any recommendations not to do it?

    Thank you!

  • Hi,

Based on my research, it seems that AppFabric caching features are only supported in a domain environment. In addition, I haven’t found any document indicated that it is not recommended to install AppFabric caching on a DC.

    Best regards,

    Susie
