Problem for downloading a cab file with OMA DM RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I try to download a cab file  through the Download Configuration Service Provider and OMA DM. I follow the code example available on the mdsn page http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc515012.aspx , and the device answers to the “Add” with a status “200”, and to the “exec” command with a status “202”, which is OK. However, after that OMA-DM session, the handset doesn’t launch the download of the cab file.

What can be the issue? Is there a specific policy that could prevent the download from the server?

(The device I use is a Samsung SGH-B7330 with Windows Mobile 6.5.)

  • Hello,

As far as I know, you need a alter box before install the download cab files. You can check the Exec notes in OMA DM Protocol Command Elements

Invokes an executable on the client device.

For OTA Firmware Update to occur, Firmware Update Managed Object (FUMO) requires that the Correlator be specified in the Exec command. For an example, see OMA DM Generic Alert.

Please follow the sample in the OMA DM generic Alert.

I hope my suggestions can help you to solve this problem.
