Help in Following Tutorial "Developing a .NET Application Using Bing Maps SOAP Services" RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

    Im a complete novice to VB and am struggling with 2 parts of this tutorial and would be most appreciative if you could PLEASE Help me out.

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd221354.aspx

    Ok so where i am having issues:

    1. Is the xalm.cs the same as xalm.vb. I assume so

    2. The tutorial states:

      • Add the following code to the top of the Window1.xaml.cs file to reference the services:
      using BingMapsSample.GeocodeService;
      using BingMapsSample.SearchService;
      using BingMapsSample.ImageryService;
      using BingMapsSample.RouteService;

    I have added like so:

    Partial Public Class BingMapsSample
    using BingMapsSample.GeocodeService;
    using BingMapsSample.SearchService;
    using BingMapsSample.ImageryService;
    using BingMapsSample.RouteService;
    End Class

    but am recieving syntax error on the "using"

    3.

    Creating the Method

    In this example, you use a simple set of options to geocode an unparsed address. The “High Confidence” filter limits the result sets to the best match. Other filters return more results or filter on additional criteria.

    To create the method:

    1. Open Window1.xaml.cs
    2. Create a new method called GeocodeAddress.
    3. Copy the following code into your method and set the string variable key your Bing Maps key value....

    How do i create a new method to input the code.

    I know these are silly questions to you experts but im struggling and need help.

    Many thanks
