Play .mov files in Azure Media Player RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are not able to play .mov video files using Azure Media Player. When we are playing .mov streaming URL we are getting message like "Video is not supported".

Also we have tried playing our URL on online tool "http://ampdemo.azureedge.net/azuremediaplayer.html" but we are getting blank screen for .mov files.

Answers

  • Hi JZero,

    Thank you for posting here!

Azure Media Services comes with specific supported formats:

    • The MP4 format, with H264 video and AAC audio.
    • The WebM format, with VP8 video and Vorbis audio.
    • The FLV format, with H263 video and MP3 audio.

We don't accept files with .mov files in Azure Media Players, however, if your file is in H264 video format, you can change your file to .mp4 extension by rerun the encoding.

For more details, kindly go through the following link shown below:

    https://azure.microsoft.com/en-in/documentation/articles/media-services-media-encoder-standard-formats/

While playing videos in Azure Media Player online, if you get any kind of error, please update your Azure Media Services.

    Regards,

    Pradeep.
