C# Visual Studio Express 2015 - Static Linking RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    My C# program uses the AWS SDK (these are *.dll) which have been added via

    Project->References->Add Reference

    Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\AWS SDK for .NET\bin\Net35

    Picking the required *.dll

    I want to build my *.exe so that the *.exe contains the *.dll that I have added this way.

    This is so the *.exe is portable and can be moved to another PC where the AWS SDK has not been installed.

    I am told that this can be achieved with static linking during the build.

    How do I do static linking using Visual Studio Express 2015?

    If this is not possible how would I achieve the same without static linking?

  • Hi phillip-from-oz,

    Thank you for posting here.

    For your question, a easy way is to install this package from Package Manage Console with the Package Manager below.

    Install-Package ilmerge -Version 3.0.21

    Best Regards,
