SQL Server Developer Usage RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm not sure I'm 100% clear about the licensing of SQL Server 2014 Developer Edition.

If I'm using this product to teach SQL Server in my class, does it still considered to be a non production usage ?

    Thanks !

  • Greetings,

although there is a rule about not going into licensing details on the forum..

you might want to review Microsoft's Educational offering at:
    https://www.dreamspark.com/institution/subscription.aspx

Or look at the options that the free developer's license gives as per:
    https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/dataplatforminsider/2016/03/31/microsoft-sql-server-developer-edition-is-now-free/

    with regards,

  • Hi,

on Microsoft license Terms document for SQL developer edition, we have:

"One user may install and use copies of the software to design, develop, test and demonstrate your programs."

    it's NOT mentioned : "teach"

for testing, it's mentione that "Your end users may access the software to perform acceptance tests on your programs."

    thanks
