  • Does anyone know if I can run MRDS with Bioloid robot?

  • Bioloid robots and Dynamixel servos in general are not directly supported, but Robotis does publish an SDK that includes a C# interface for controlling their servos and they also document the direct serial protocol on which the SDK is based.

    It would require some C# code to create a service that controlled them.  You could either take the C# SDK and implement an RDS service around it, or you could go to the lower "Serial Protocol" level and create a service on that.  For the second option, there is a SerialComService which is provided in RDS4 and can be found in the samples\Platforms\ReferencePlatform2011 directory.

    For an example of how it is used in a real robot you can download the Parallax "Eddie" services from http://www.parallax.com/eddie (http://www.parallax.com/Portals/0/Downloads/docs/prod/robo/eddie/ParallaxKit.zip)
