SharePoint Designer 2010 - No files under "All Files" RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have an intranet site in SharePoint 2010 that has been upgraded from SharePoint 2007 using the backup/restore/attach content database method. There are some issues with various web parts, but I've got that under control.

What I don't understand and that I don't have control over is that when I open the site with SharePoint Designer 2010, and click "All files", it consistently throws this message:

"There are no files to show in this view that match the current filter settings. Remove or modify the filter settings to display items.".

I usually go through "All Files" to get to the master pages, page layouts and design elements (css, images etc.).

Any ideas on what could be wrong and possibly what I need to do to fix it?

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

Base on the description, when you open the site with SharePoint Designer 2010, and click "All files", it consistently throws the error message and no files display under "All Files.

In order to solve the problem more efficiently I need to clarify some information. Do you have appropriate permissions and is everything allowed in the SPD settings at both the web app and site collection level?

If not, we should change  the SharePoint designer settings in both  Central Administration and Site collection settings .Perform an IIS reset after change the settings and reopen the site in SharePoint designer. For more information about SharePoint designer settings ,please refer to this site :

If it still exists error, please try to access http://server/sites/subsite/_vti_bin/ListData.svc from browser and see if you can get the returned XML file. If not, please make sure all prerequisites for SharePoint 2010 is installed on your SharePoint Server. If not, install it manually and restart server. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee554869.aspx
