Can you search for network shares/devices on Start Screen desktop?

    Question

  • Since Metro is the new look of searching and multiple locations can be search from there it would seem to me that I can specify network servers to search or at least search for servers. I can't see any way to search for servers, shares on servers, or files in shares, even after I've already accessed those shares and files from the desktop. I keep all my media on my Synology Diskstation and would expect to be able to set it as a search location but I can't seem to find how to do that. Am I doing something wrong or was Metro not intended for such-like operations?

  • I think that if you rightclick and select "include in library" it should get indexed.

  • When I right-click on a network device, network share, or folder in a network share I see no option to "include in library".

  • Guess this only works for external hard drives then.
